Capital Art Collection
Bissell Atelier is pleased to collaborate with Capital Art's Celebrity Vault Collection to offer one of the largest and most diverse collections of vintage Hollywood imagery in the world. The Collection encompasses over 100,000 images spanning the last 100 years of beloved movies, icons, and genres of film history.
With over 25,000 subjects represented in all, everyone from Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn to Muhammad Ali and Elvis Presley are part of the collection.
The majority of the archive comes from 2 historical companies: Movie Star News, a retail store that was started by Irving Klaw in New York City in 1938. He acquired millions of images from the studios over 5 decades and was largely responsible for preserving Hollywood; And Globe Photo Agency, founded in New York City in 1939. Globe was the nations first pop culture photo agency and has represented over 5,000 photographers over the past 75+ years. Additional photographical archives source from the work of Joseph Jaspur and the notable Frank Worth.
Preserving pop culture since 1938, the Celebrity Vault Collection of fine art prints are available in sizes ranging from 11x14" to wall-sized installations, on archival materials or silver gale tin prints. Bissell Atelier is pleased to offer custom framing and art handling on all selections.
